Our company specializes in collecting and analyzing traffic flow data for commercial areas, as well as for all areas with a high level of pedestrian traffic, such as shops, shopping centers, museums, trade fairs, and real estate.

We integrate technology with marketing and business intelligence expertise.

Our detection technologies and analysis tools empower our clients to oversee access, enhance the management of space, staff, in-store promotional initiatives, and sales flows, thereby optimizing customer experience and boosting profitability. Our sensors are equipped with sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms that, in conjunction with the MonitorEyes Retail Analytics software, assist customers in monitoring and managing entrances and analyzing customer behavioral patterns. This enables optimal management of spaces, personnel, in-store and drive-to-store promotional campaigns, customer experience, and sales flows.
 

We are proud to be members of Retail Institute Italy and in the international board of the National Retail Federation (NRF) and we are research partners of University of Bologna ( "Sensors and artificial intelligence Research") program.

Visionarea's history  

In the early 2000s, when Big Data and Machine Learning were still in their infancy and had not yet been implemented in store traffic counting and analysis solutions, four professionals from the retail and video surveillance industries realized that monitoring visitors in commercial spaces would be a critical factor in the development of retail.

They decided to found Visionarea—The People Counting Company, a vertical company specializing in People Counting Systems. Subsequently, the demand for these systems has expanded to other sectors, including museums, events, offices, airports, and smart buildings, where they have become essential for counting, traffic monitoring, and capacity management


Today, Visionarea manages people counting projects for national and international clients operating worldwide. 
Two of the founding partners, Edoardo Allorio and Cesare Fogola, hold the positions of Managing Director and Sales Director, respectively.


Milestones

  • 2008 Visionarea is founded in Milan
  • 2014 Analysis data is transferred to the Cloud, accessible from any device
  • 2016 Visionarea Latin America is founded
  • 2020 Development of tools for monitoring space occupancy in real time
  • 2020 Visionarea participates in research by the Politecnico di Milano for the drafting of a new report on digital evolution in retail
  • 2021 Expansion of presence in foreign markets with the implementation of people counting projects in large international groups in the retail sector.
  • 2023 Visionarea Technology Service (Shanghai) Co.Ltd. is born. The people counting solution is made available to the Chinese market with the development of the MonitorEyes Analytics platform                 on Alibaba Cloud.
