We are specialized in collecting and analysing traffic flow data for commercial areas, and in general for all areas with a high level of pedestrian traffic, such as shops, shopping centres, museums, trade fairs and real estate.

With our detection technologies and analysis tools, we help our customers to monitor access, optimize the management of space, staff, in-store promotional campaigns and sales flows, improving customer experience and profitability. Our sensors (3D, TOF and Infrared) - equipped with sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms - and the MonitorEyes analysis software, help customers both to monitor and manage entrances, and to analyze the behavioral patterns of their customers, in order to optimize the management of spaces, personnel, in-store and drive-to-store promotional campaigns, customer experience and sales flows.
 
We are members of Retail Institute Italy, in the international board of the National Retail Federation (NRF) and we are research partners of the Politecnico di Milano ("Digital Innovation in Retail") and of the University of Bologna ( "Sensors and artificial intelligence Research").

Our history   

In the early 2000s, when Big Data and Machine Learning were still far from being implementable in counting solutions, 4 professionals from the world of retail and video surveillance realized that counting and monitoring of visitors in commercial aereas would have been a critical factor for the development of retail. Thus they decide to found Visionarea-The People Counting Company, a vertical company specialized in People Counting. A few years later, the needs of counting, traffic monitoring and occupancy management would also prove to be of great use in other sectors such as museums, events, offices, airports and smart buildings.

Two of the founding partners, Edoardo Allorio and Cesare Fogola, now hold the positions of Managing Director and Sales Director

MILESTONES

2008 - Visionarea is launched in Milan

2014 - Analysis data is transferred to the Cloud, accessible from any device

2015 - Integration of 3D binocular sensors into our platform

2016 - Visionarea Latin America starts to operate in Perù

2020- Specific solutions for the management of the Covid-19 emergency are launched

2020- Visionarea joins the working group of the Politecnico di Milano for elaborating a new report on the digital evolution in Retail

2020- Visionarea, Retail Institute and University of Bologna launch a research project on the use of People Counting Sensors and Artificial Intelligence in Large-Scale Retail
